Reboot in Safe Mode, remove the "Connect automatically" feature for all wireless access points you have and disconnect from the one you're on. If this is a functional solution, it would be important to have the update(s) downloaded before disconnecting the network. Windows update spends the better part of 2 hours searching for updates and another hour or so of 0% downloading and I have over 200 Updates pending. This worked.
